[MTB] vs Aether President Lusamine

[Someone acted on the motive that week; it wasn't a surprise, considering the other options.
Lusamine had far too much she couldn't bare to lose. It took a talk with Silver to solidify it, though Gold certainly helped matters. She liked Gangrel, more than anyone else in the room. Oh, she loved to argue with the man and tease him, and compete with him--but she could never shake the feeling, in truth. After that Thursday morning, when she had told him to stay safe and when they tried to sort out their feelings, it...became apparent. Lusamine couldn't lose him. She wouldn't lose him, not like Mohn, she wasn't going to let him be lost.
Silver and Estelle were only the unfortunate victims of opportunity. They trusted her. They looked at her like a mother figure, and she didn't trust them for a moment. It was a little ghastly, really, the way they'd been killed; Estelle by one of the books she loved so much used to bash her face as many times as Lusamine could manage, before Silver made the mistake of trying to stop her. He was strangled for his efforts. It was fine; everything would be fine, once she and Gangrel were out of this hellhole. Elda would have to be left behind, certainly, but it would be worthwhile.
(Would it be, truly? Was it worth seeing the horrified looks on their faces, as they were betrayed? It's not like she genuinely liked them, never, not after--)
The evidence was stacking up. Slowly but surely; the size of the hands that strangled Silver and the indent of nails, hair left behind at the scene (Estelle, that brat, when did she grab it?), Lusamine's bruised arms (Silver tried to fight back and so did she--), and even Lusamine's haunted demeanor--how she wasn't speaking up as often--]
My...you all say such incomprehensible things.
[Lusamine's tone was like ice, and she seemed to close her eyes just a touch. Like she were tutting a bunch of children.]
You all can't truly believe that I would kill children, can you? That would go against every single one of my principles. A mother can't be haunted by the loss of such wonderful children lest she be guilty of their death, can she? Is that the theory that you all are trying to raise?
[Her tone takes on more venom as she speaks, looking across the podiums, to all of their faces--the shocked faces of people who haven't seen this sort of side to Lusamine before, save for a few.
(Likely save for one, who's face she has to avoid staring at.)
It gets even worse, when the woman's voice raises to a shriek and her eyes widen like she's ready to kill.]
You all DISGUST me!! How dare you accuse me of such hideous deeds! I have no reason to act on that motive, and you would all do well to drop this farce of an accusation and get back on track! How utterly unconscionable are you lot willing to be?! I did not kill either of those children, and there is nothing--I repeat, nothing--you lot can do to prove otherwise! I don't care for any of you enough to do something so unspeakable!
[And...like that, Lusamine's demeanor goes back to pleasantry, almost instantaneously. Too instantaneously. The smile she gives is cold--it's practically frigid, but she holds her arms out to everyone never the less.]
It's disappointing, really...to know how small-minded you all are. Even all of you must think that this is a fruitless endeavor by now. Are you all truly going to pursue a dead end, as if you all were headless Farfetch'd? Or shall you pursue another, and cease wasting everyone's time?

post-game: fire emblem shenanigans

[There's something comforting about being back in his world. Maybe it's the familiar weight of his sword as he uses it to cast lightning from the sky to strike Risen or maybe it's the fact that the Second Seal works again and Lusamine can take a proper class to join him on the battlefield. Or maybe it's just getting to fight instead of relying on Pokémon to do it. Well, whatever it is, it certainly isn't the familiar Plegian desert. From what he's gathered they've landed somewhere in Valm, which means heading east until they can find the ocean and from there, a port where they can get a ride back to Plegia. It's not going to be easy, but he warned Lusamine that his world isn't one that's as easy to adapt to as Alola. It's not as kind as the people there either.
Gangrel's already scouted out the cave they've come across tonight; it's best to camp once it gets dark so they can get some rest. He's already got his bedroll spread and ready for rest, but he's busy getting a fire started so they can cook something for dinner before retiring for the night. It's been a long time since he last traveled anywhere, but it's surprisingly easy to pick it back up. It's also easier when he's not worrying about hunting in a desert.]
Shame I don't know exactly where we are. Though I've never been one for geography beyond knowing where the other countries are, anyway!
[He's still in a good mood despite the traveling and battles with the Risen. It's just good to be home (sort of) after so long.]
